Recipe for Sauce Beautiful
Updated: Jun 8, 2021
Inspired by Princess Pamela's Soul Food Cookbook
Sauce Beautiful, named after Princess Pamela’s mother, tastes amazing on nearly everything, especially meat and fish. To balance the sweet flavors, I felt the sauce needed some chili heat; however, if you’re not tolerant to spice, feel free to leave out the smoked paprika and tabasco. I’d also recommend adding your own personal flair to this sauce — instead of peach preserves, you could try adding some savory notes with tomato jam. Either way, it’s clear that Princess Pamela was inspired by her mother on many levels, and Sauce Beautiful is the perfect homage to both women.

8 tablespoons peach preserve
1/4 cup water
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon canola oil
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon tobacco
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Yields: 1 cup
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time 25-30 minutes
In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients.
Cook over medium heat for 25-30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and place in a container, then into the refrigerator for future uses.
