A few years ago, my husband re-discovered his love of whiskey and cocktails, and we haven’t looked back since. Trips to different distilleries have been the highlight of our time together since we are both learning the intricacies of tasting notes and pairings in our tours and travels. So when I saw this recipe in the book, I felt that it was not only appropriate for our Valentine’s Day cocktail, but also because it feels personal to our story.
6 ounces whole milk
3 ounces honey
3 ounces whiskey
Yields: a serving for two
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: none
Heat the milk in a saucepan. Add in the honey and stir to mix.
Remove from heat and set aside to cool a little. Pour the milk mixture into a glass with some ice.
Pour the whiskey into a nice cocktail glass.
Strain in the milk mixture.
Garnish with charred pear slices and enjoy.
